The Student Bar Association is the governing body of the students at the Laurence Drivon School of Law, Humphreys College.
PURPOSE Humphreys' Student Bar Association Constitution:
“The Student Bar Association of Humphreys School of Law is organized to represent the Student Body, to promote the idea of professional responsibility, to achieve the betterment of the law students in their professional and social interests, and to coordinate activities for the students of the law school.”
MISSION Through its activities, the Student Bar aims to further legal education, represent and advocate student interests to the administration and faculty, inform students of recent issues and developments concerning our school, and create opportunities for students to come together in both social and academic settings. The Student Bar also seeks to be the conduit for information from the legal community and to connect the student body with the broader legal community through various events and activities. In addition, the Student Bar coordinates student activities and organizations, and is charged with appropriating funds for student activities and student organizations. ORGANIZATION The Student Bar is driven and governed by its members. Membership is not automatic with enrollment. Membership is open and encouraged to all enrolled law students. Membership dues fund maintenance on the website, social events, lecture series, tutoring programs, and many more activities provided by the Student Bar. Each year is entitled to two class representatives. The first year representatives are entitled to two representatives per section. These representatives speak on behalf of their class. They represent concerns pertinent to their class to the Student Bar. All of the Class Representatives comprise the Board of Governors for the Student Bar. They elect the Executive Council for the SBA. Elections of the Executive council are typically held on the first meeting of the new school year.

MEETINGS Student Bar meetings are typically held once a month upon notice. Meetings are open to all members and non members unless indicated otherwise. The Student Bar discusses issues pertinent to student life at Humphrey’s at its meetings. If you have an issue that needs to be addressed please mention it to your class representative or come to a meeting. Members are able and encouraged to participate in meetings and committees for the betterment of student life. The more participation and support from you, the students, the better the Student Bar will be able to serve you.
